AI Takes Another Huge Leap Forward
Another week in AI that felt like a year 😅

Another week in AI that felt like a year 😅. A bunch of huge announcements by Adobe, Google, and Open AI adds plugins to GPT-4. Let’s dive in.
Adobe Expands into AI
Adobe launched their first two AI products for the new Adobe Firefly. The first tool generates an image based on a text prompt, such as "fierce alligator leaping out of the water during a lightning storm," and includes hundreds of styles to customize the outcome. The other uses prompt-based text styles to allow users to make letters that seem hairy, scaly, mossy, or whatever they choose.
Another awesome part of the project is that Adobe is committed to developing creative generative AI responsibly, with creators at the center. Their mission is to give creators every advantage — not just creatively, but practically. As Firefly evolves, they will continue to work closely with the creative community to build technology that supports and improves the creative process. Very cool!
Google Releases Bard
The new chatbot—software designed to simulate human conversation—will initially be available to a limited number of users in the United States and the United Kingdom, with more users, countries, and languages added over time, Google said Tuesday, without specifying how many users would have access to the technology.
Consumers will be able to access Bard through a separate website from the Google search engine, according to Google, in an effort to isolate the source of much of the company's money from the experimental technology that has caused difficulties at other firms
Google also unveiled AI-powered tools for Google Cloud and Google Workspace, such as Google Documents and Google Sheets, last week, including one that will compose emails for users who select a specific template.
Open AI Adds Plugins to GPT-4
Open AI continues to move at a crazy fast pace. Last week launching plugins to GPT-4. Which essentially works like an app store featuring plugins like Expedia, Zapier, Shopify, Instacart and more! GPT-4 is also now able to surf the web 🤯
Let’s look at an example of how this would work. Picture this, your on a trip to San Francisco for the weekend. On Friday you want to go to a nice Italian dinner and on Saturday you want to cook a meal for your partner. GPT-4 can now find the best restaurant in San Francisco for you and even book at table for. Then for Saturday GPT puts together a recipe for you and adds all the ingredients you need directly to your Instacart basket. Wow. This is game changing. GPT is becoming more and more like an amazing virtual assistant.
