AI Art Takes A Huge Leap Forward
Yesterday Midjourney released their highly anticipated V5 update. The results so far have been extraordinary. You can get access by signing up for their free trial here.
Here is the update from David in Discord regarding the V5 update and all the new features available.

One of the most notable changes in Midjourney so far is the ability to create more realistic hands. Let’s take a look at an example of pictures from the prompt “doctor on a plane using wifi”. Below is the same prompt but using Midjourney V3, V4 and V5.

What an incredible job by the Midjourney team to continue to push forward generative AI art. Keep in mind that V3 was released in July 2022. Only 9 months ago. 🤯 The pace in which AI is changing is remarkable.
The developers at Midjourney also have said you no longer need to add prompts like “super realistic”, “unreal engine” or “8k” and entering prompts like that now will actually get you a worse result. This is one step closer to AI’s understanding exactly what we want instead of us having to prompt engineer a good prompt to get the result we want.
Finally here is some of the best AI generated images from the first day of the V5 launch.

Midjourney also announced Midjourney Magazine. You can find the link here. Midjourney Magazine features a selection of artwork curated from the 10,000 most highly rated images, as well as the interview with Midjourney Community members. You can subscribe today and get the first issue for free.
